DIY Paneled Wall

Posted: November 5, 2012 in Uncategorized

The first thing I thing of when I hear paneling is 50 some year old fake wooden paneling.

You don't have to live with the ugly paneling on your walls.

Luckily, that’s not what we’re talking about today.  This clean DIY panelling design adds a sense of tradition and elegance to this room.

The designers share all in the DIY paneled wall tutorial.

  1. Love this concept! I am hoping to set up a studio room for my photography business over the next few years and I think that this would be a great back wall behind my backdrop rolls. I love the texture and the 3-D look.

Incidentally, we have two walls that are done in the fake wood paneling you referenced in your lead sentence. Any tips for how to incorporate it into your living room decor when your significant other is attached to it for sentimental reasons?

    • I know exactly what you are talking about! There have been several things I assumed would have been out of the house by now, but they they are. For a reason, unknown to me, they are integral to the house and must stay. As far as the far wood paneling, if you can convince your significant other, paint is a cheap and quick way to update the room. If you can’t get rid of it, I guess my next suggestion is to embrace it. 🙂 Create one accent wall with the paneling and remove it from the others. You will be able to further mask the paneling with a built in style shelving system or storage/entertainment system. It might not seem so overwhelming, and the thought of the paneling on an accent wall might help when trying to remove it from the other walls.
