My husband and I bought a real fixer-upper not so long ago.  Of course, I fell in love with a 1900s farmhouse the second I stepped foot inside.  Corinthian colonnades, stained glass windows, and a big front porch had the charm of a house that I could call home.   With my incredibly vast knowledge of renovation projects, or something like that, I was sure we could whip out our projects in no time.  Big surprise, that has not been the case.  Each project seems to be just a smidgen more complicated than expected.
